Imagery

As the teenagers gathered around the school to pull the ultimate prank on a late Sunday night they where finally nearing the end when they decided to take the coldest heart from the crowd and throw her into the icy snow. The crowd began to laugh as she struggled to stand without hurting herself as the snow fell down the cracks of her back and melted against her skin. She decided to just take in a deep breath of the freezing air and forget about being tired from shoveling all the snow onto the doors and fight back. She gathered the crunchy snow in her hands into a perfect snowball and throw it at Jeremy and Chris, unfortunately the one man show couldn’t take out the crowd. Finally after laughing so hard they decided the night was over and left for home.

Janey Don't You Lose You Heart

In the song "Janey Don't You Lose You Heart" by Bruce Springsteen. It makes me think more about friendship then some kind of love story or a connection that only siblings can make with eachother cuse no matter what family is there for one another. In the song "Janey Don't You Lose You Heart" when he says "I'll catch your tears I'll take your sorrow if you want me to Come tomorrow that's what I'll do". It makes me think of someone close to you struggling and how you would protect them and comfort them if you saw them in a struggle.

A Thousand Splendid Suns

http://www.rawa.org/ill.htm

"I’ve found my path and will never return.I’ve opened closed doors of ignorance"

As Laila,Mariam and Aziza leave the house they are in a panic and hope they will never have to return to this awful place they once called home.Laila had put much effort into the idea of running away she had sold her wedding ring and stole money from Rasheed."I’ve said farewell to all golden bracelets". This quote reminds me of Laila pawning of her wedding ring to receive more money to run away with.
The three girls finally get to the train station where they bag a man to buy them tickets he clams that he does but turns them in instead. Laila,Mariam and Aziza have to return to Rasheed where he beats them and kills Mariam in the end and Laila lives on with a since of quilt in her for the rest of her life for not trying to do more to stop the beating.
As they begin there journey .

A Thousand Splendid Suns

A Thousand Splendid Suns

Pg 7. Nana said "Learn this now and learn it well,my daughter like a compass points north, a mans accusing finger always finds a woman you remember that, Mariam"
The connection that I personally make to this quote and the outside world isn't a strong one however its personal. It happened the other day in the common area when i just came back from Starbucks and put my coffee on the table. I turned my back for a split second and Kayne was running away. I turned back and my coffee was everywhere and right then who decides to come from his office but Mr. Shimmer, "Tiara is this your Starbucks?" I said "Yes..But". As Kayne slowly came back in and said it was my fault for putting it there and i should clean it up ( Taking no responsibility). In the end of it all the janitor ended cleaning it up but I was told if this happened again that i should be getting the janitor sooner then later.
I made this connection to the quote because " A mans accusing finger always finds a woman" . Just like Kayne blamed me for him knocking over the coffee and Shimmer holding me responsible.

August Rush

August Rush is a movie that I didn’t want to end. It begins with two younger people falling in love but the father preventing it from becoming more then just a relationship. Keri Rusell who plays Lyla Novacek in the story gets in a accident and ends up in the hospital with her father by her side.Lyla was pregnant before the accident and when she awoke her father bared the news of her losing the baby. When he actually gave it up for adoption and forged her signature. Lyla went on with her life with this since of emptiness with in and no longer speaking to Jonathan Rhys Meyers as Louis Connely. Her father begins to get really sick and finally tells her before he passes that she had a baby and he had given it up for adoption ten years earlier will she was having an operation for the accident. When this began to happen the story became more intense then I personally thought it would. and I could see the people around me feeling the same way literally everyone was on the edge of there seats with tissues in there hands and tears in there eyes. This movie is something I recommend if you’re looking for a tear jerker with a fairy tail ending.

Blogging

Personally, I believe that blogging is a great idea. It’s a way in my eyes that you can start becoming more confident in writing and more interested when it comes to reading. However not many people are to confident in writing what they feel because this is open to everyone in the classroom so people become more reserved in what they are typing. They begin to fear if someone is going to post a negative comment on there blog. But if we continue to blog people will begin to see that no one is going to write negative feedback towards them and those insecure people will become confident in what they have to say. Some topics I would be interested in blogging about would be world wide current events, where I see myself in 10 years from now and simple things in between. When it comes to being marked on blogging the 6 point scale should be involved I think because everyone understands it and the expectations that it holds.

a thought-provoking story of the n.american political situation

There was a Chemistry professor in a large college that had some Exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab the Prof noticed one young man (exchange student) who kept rubbing his back and stretching as if his back hurt. The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist government. In the midst of his story he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked,'Do you know how to catch wild pigs?'The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line. The young man said this was no joke. 'You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come everyday to eat the free corn. When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side. The pigs, which are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat the free corn, you slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd.Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity. The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening to America. The government keeps pushing us toward Communism/Socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare, medicine, drugs, etc. while we continually lose our freedoms, just a little at a time. One should always remember 'There is no such thing as a free Lunch!' Also, 'You can never hire someone to provide a service for you cheaper than you can do it yourself. Also, if you see that all of this wonderful government 'help' is a problem confronting the future of democracy in America, you might want to send this on to your friends. If you think the free ride is essential to your way of life then you will probably delete this email, but God help you when the gate slams shut!

If I could choose any superpower I could have, it would have to be a pair of wings. So I could fly anywhere and everywhere I wanted to go. Theses pair of wings I would have on my back wouldn’t be a boring color like white or blue they would be neon green. They also wouldn’t be seen at all times when I wanted to use them they would then appear. It wouldn't cost me anything to use them unlike a car. It also wouldn’t take me forever to get anywhere I wanted to it almost be like I’m flying so fast you wouldn’t even no I’m flying. If everyone in the world would have a pair of wings it would get rid of such big issues to are world ,think about it if everyone had a pair of wings global warming wouldn't be such a big issue to our world, We wouldn't have to spend the governments money on paving roads, making cross walks or traffic lights. The money could go to such better causes.
